Detailed description:

I want to change my username on Minecraft and when I changed it I figured out I lost all my progress in all gamemodes and I had to change it back.​

Reason(s):

Because it would be nice if I change my username and I still have all my progress.​

Example(s):

I changed my username from trendycircus to trendy_circus and I lost all my progress.​

Hey 0208 and UpperGround,
Every official bought Minecraft account has a UUID. I hope you know what it means by now, I've already tried explaining it over and over. Thing is, offline mode players (Cracked) doesn't have one, they only have a username, and an IP. Of course, putting ranks using IP's won't work, so the only way to store information is using Usernames.

How can it detect that you changed your username?
UUID is Mojang ACCOUNT BASED. Not based on usernames. Thats why it doesnt care if you change names or not.
